We're making progress integrating Threads into the fediverse and launching a beta in a few countries that lets people choose to federate their posts. If you see this and turn it on from your profile, you'll see likes from federated platforms appear on your posts here.

I remember in college editing OpenSSH source code to instead of return wrong password to a root shell prompt just to stop brute force attacks

Fedi is the most strange thing in the world.

On normal social media, you write a message and people just ignore it forever.

Here, you write a message, it stays ignored for 1 or 2 years, and then all of a sudden, for no reason, with no explanation, someone finds it somehow, boosts it, and it gets 200 likes and 120 boosts.

What the fuck.

I'm sure someone will boost this message in 2021 or 2022.

To the #Windows and #macOS users of Mastodon who have tried #Linux and ended up still using Windows or macOS:

What is it about the Linux distro(s) you tried that made it/them unsuitable for your use? If some problem or set of problems was fully resolved, would it be enough for you to be able to comfortably use Linux?

My #Hungarian teacher asked me yesterday if I could help her with her computer, because she had some issues. Old retired woman.

When she started her PC, it turned out, she is using #Ubuntu #Linux.
