Yes, been there, done that .. I remember this was the one release with the weird abrupt "stops". But could also have been 7.04.

Ah I remember trying to install this on my first PC before it arrived to a messy desktop. Turns out my video driver doesn't like Ubuntu that much.

I've discovered the open source philosophy at a ubuntu party with this version. Now I work with open source databases full time. It changed my life!

I loved that boot animation, although my first adventures into the linux world started with Ubuntu 9.10 . I hate nowadays worth- and meaningless bootanimations......
